A RESOLUTION HONORING AN OUTSTANDING YOUNG ACHLECE, SCHOLAR,
AND RE51DENC OF THE VILLAGE OF £LK GROVE VILLAGE
WHEREAS, Stephen M. Miller, a resident of the Village of Elk Grave Village,
has received numerous honors as an athlete in both Track and Crass Cauntry,
and Arademically, while attending Elk Grove High School; and
WHEREAS, Steve Miller is State Champion in the Class AA 3,200 meter
run 1985 and third in State in the 1,600 meter run, Illinois Track, and
has set new Illinois High School Association and state finals' records;
and
WHEREAS, Steve Miller has been named third in the Nation in the 3,000
meter run at the "Pepsi Challenge" earlier this season; and
WHEREAS, Steve Miller is one of the top distance runners in the State
and nation; and
WHEREAS, Steve Miller was selected as All State Runner by the Illinois
Track and Cross Country Coaches Association in 1984 and 1985, as well as
selected bg the Chicaga Tribune as "Prep Athlete at the Week" twice; and
WHEREAS, Steve Miller is one of the Valedictorians at his 1985 graduating
class, an Illinois state Scholar, and a member of the National Honor
5arietg; and
WHEREAS, Steve Miller is highly motivated, mature, intelligent,
athletic, talented, and an inspiration and joy to all who came in contact
with him.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the President and Board of Trustees
at the Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of Cook and DuPage, State of
Illinois, that Stephen M. Miller is hereby cammended as an autstanding citiBen
who has brought honor to himself, his family, his school and his community.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the President and Board at Trustees do
hereby extend to Stephen M. Miller their sincere wishes far his future as a
student at Northwestern University.
