HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTION - 75-85 - 9/10/1985 - C.E.D.A. HEAD START WEEK IN VILLAGE RESOLUTION NO. 75-85 A RESOLUTION DECLARING THE WEEK OF SEPTEMBER 22nd THROUGH THE 28th, 1985 AS "C.E.D.A. HEAD START WEEK" IN THE VILLAGE OF ELK GROVE VILLAGE WHEREAS, the national Head Start Program has proved to be most effective at promoting the intellectual , physical and social-emotional growth and development of preschool children from low-income families; and WHEREAS, the Head Start program is recognized by educators and political leaders alike as the most successful program of the war-on- poverty effort; and WHEREAS, the Community and Economic Development Association of Cook County, Inc. , (C.E.D.A.) , is the program sponsor for Head Start in suburban Cook County; and WHEREAS, C.E.D.A. ' s Head Start programs have provided quality service to thousands of poor preschool children and their families from sixty communities in suburban Cook County; and WHEREAS, the Head Start Program, nationally, is celebrating its twentieth Anniversary during 1985. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Cook and DuPage Counties, Illinois; Section 1 . That the Village of Elk Grove Village in recognition of the C.E.D.A. Head Start Program' s twenty years of service to Cook County poverty-level families, declares the week of September 22nd through the 28th, 1985 as "C.E.D.A. Head Start Week" in the Village of Elk Grove Village. Section 2. That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval according to law.
