KNICKERBOCKER Village Attorney Pursuant to a duly made and approved motion and a majority vote at a regularly scheduled meeting of the Mayor and Board of Trustees on July 19, 2022, this Executive Session was called to consider review of Land Acquisition. Number of pages attached: 1 Date(s) of review for release: February 2024 Date of approval for release: Date approved by Village Board: August 16, 2022 July 19, 2022 6:11 pm The purchase agreement for the Sweet Baby Rays property is on tonight's Village Board Agenda. The Village is working on an agreement with Rose Garden which would allow them to be relocated and operational by March 31, 2023. The proposed agreement states the Sweet Baby Ray's property must be operated as a family style restaurant for 5 years and that the Village will maintain ownership of the property while they renovate the new building. The Village will provide $400,000 in relocation expenses to facilitate renovations. The owners of Rose Garden have agreed to this deal in concept and have agreed to work with the Village on the aesthetics of the restaurant building. The Village will coordinate with Rose Garden to communicate about the announcement at the same time. This agreement would allow the Village to retain a family restaurant, and also removes an impediment to the redevelopment of the Arlington/Higgins shopping center by requiring Rose Garden to vacate their existing building by March 31, 2023. The consensus of the Board was to purchase Sweet Baby Rays restaurant for future redevelopment purposes. The meeting was adjourned at 6:18 pm. OR
