STORINO Acting Village Attorney Pursuant to a duly made and approved motion and a majority vote at a regularly scheduled meeting of the Mayor and Board of Trustees on August 16, 2022, this Executive Session was called to consider review of Land Acquisition. Number of pages attached: Date(s) of review for release Date of approval for release: 1 February 2024 Date approved by Village Board: September 13. 2022 August 16, 2022 6:39 pm The relocation agreement with Rose Garden is on the Village Board Agenda. This agreement terminates the Rose Garden's existing lease early and makes way for a phased redevelopment that will allow the commercial businesses in the shopping center to remain operational during construction. Mayor Johnson explained that the incentives provided to Rose Garden to get them to relocate and renovate the Sweet Baby Ray's property are similar to incentives the Village provided to other businesses. The Rose Garden will obtain the property so long as they keep it operational as a family restaurant for five (5) years. If they do not, the property reverts back to the Village. In addition, the Village will be providing $400,000 in TIF incentives for the renovation of the interior and exterior of the property. The Village has final say over the proposed improvements. The benefit to the Village is that the vacant building will be renovated and the Village will be able to keep this popular family style restaurant in the community. The consensus of the Board was to approve the agreement. The meeting was adjourned at 6:39 pm.
