KNICKERBOCKER Village Attorney Pursuant to a duly made and approved motion and a majority vote at a regularly scheduled meeting of the Mayor and Board of Trustees on September 27, 2022, this Executive Session was called to consider review of Personnel. Number of pages attached: Date(s) of review for release Date of approval for release: 1 February 2024 Date approved by Village Board: October 11, 2022 September 27, 2022 6:50 pm The Board reviewed the compensation analysis and proposed recommendations from the Village Manager. The Board asked whether there would be requirements to qualify for the tuition reimbursement and the Village Manager advised the policy would include a caveat that the employee must work for the Village for 24 months after completing the tuition reimbursement and that the degree must relate to their profession. The vacation rollover proposal will allow for employees to rollover no more than one week of vacation. Previously, the vacation rollover was only allowed with special permission by the Village Manager. The Village has an existing policy that when a Department Head has been in their position for at least 10 years, they are automatically moved to the top of their range. As a result, the Fire Chief and Finance Director will automatically be moved to the top of their new salary range. Village Manager Roan advised that he would work with the Executive Team to create a proposed policy for review by the Village Board. The Village Manager advised that Mount Prospect recently approved 17.5% pay increases for some positionsand that surrounding towns like Schaumburg and Rolling Meadows are conducting compensation studies as well. Arlington Heights has contacted the Village for the `- results of our compensation study. The consensus of the Board was to grant permission for staff to draft the policies for consideration. The consensus of the Board was to approve the proposed salary ranges and policy considerations outlined by the Village Manager Roan in his September 23, 2022 memo. The Village Manager will bring back proposed policies for tuition reimbursement and vacation rollover for review and consideration by the Village Board, The meeting was adjourned at 7:03 pm.
