Pursuant to a duly made and approved motion and a majority vote at a regularly scheduled meeting
of the Mayor and Board of Trustees on December 13, 2022, this Executive Session was called to
consider review of Personnel.

The Police Department is looking to hire four Police Officer recruits to start in January. They
would be hired at the cadet rate and work until the start of the Police Academy in May of 2023
since they will not be able to get into the January academy. The officers would be paid the cadet
rate and assist with Public Service Officer duties. The purpose of hiring them now is to help keep
them interested in the Village's Police Department until they enter the academy. Many Police
Departments are hiring and have lists filled with mostly the same candidates, so securing them
early is important. The consensus of the Board was to hire the officers at the cadet pay until the
Academy in May.
