A RESOLUTION CANVASSING THE VOTES ON THE
LIBRARY REFERENDUM HELD IN THE VILLAGE OF
ELK GROVE VILLAGE TUESDAY NOVEMBER 8 , 1983
AND DECLARING THE RESULTS THEREOF
WHEREAS, a referendum was held in and for the Village of
Elk Grove Village, Counties, of Cook and DuPage, Illinois on
Tuesday, November 8, 1983 for the purpose of a referendum on
the question, who should receive the library taxes for that
portion of the Village lying west of Rohlwing Road (Route 53).
WHEREAS , the President and Board of Trustees conducted a
canvass by examining the official tally sheets and returns of
the various judges.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the President and Board
of Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Cook and DuPage
Counties, Illinois, as follows:
Section 1 : That a total of 414 votes were cast for a
referendum asking, "SHALL THE AREA WHICH LIES IN BOTH ELK
GROVE VILLAGE, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS BE SUBJECT TO TAXATION
FOR LIBRARY PURPOSES BY ELK GROVE VILLAGE OR BY SCHAUMBURG
TOWNSHIP?"
By Elk Grove Village received 143 votes
By Schaumburg Tovnship received 271 votes
Section 2: With the apprival of the, referendum the taxes
collected for library purposes should be received by Schaumburg
Township.
Section 3 : That this Resolution shall be in full force
and effect from and after its passage and approval according
to law.
