A RESOLUTION AMENDING THE PERSONNEL RULES AND REGULATIONS RELATING TO
OVERTIME COMPENSATION FCR EMPLOYEES OF THE VILLAGE OF ELK GROVE VILLAGE
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the President and Board of Trustees
of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of Cook and DuPage, State of
Illinois:
Section 1. That the President and Board of Trustees do hereby authorize
an amendment to Section 7.8 entitled,Overtime Compensation, of the Personnel
Rules and Regulation of the Village of Elk Grove Village, a copy of the revision is
attached hereto and made a part hereof as if fully set forth.
Section 2. That this resolution shall be in full force and effect from
May 1st. 1981 _ according to law.

7.8 overtime Compensation. unless specified excluded elsewhere in
this section, all eligible employees will be compensated at a
rate of time and one-half for authorized hours worked beyond their
established workday. This shall include hours worked prior to and
after the employees scheduled workday. in addition, employees
who work on a scheduled day off, shall be compensated at a rate
of time and one half provided they have completed their regular
scheduled hours during their workweek as defined by their job
classification. All paid vacation time; paid holidays and paid
sick leave shall be considered as "time worked" for purposes of
this section.
All employees shall be eligible for overtime except those
employees designated by the Village Manager as Executive, Admin-
istrative, Professional or Staff. The following job classifications
are specifically exempt from any extra compensation including
overtime:

Overtime hours worked shall not be paid more than once for the
same hours worked under any circumstances.
Part time employees who serve in positions which are not excluded
from overtime shall be compensated at a rate of time and one-half
when:
1. Their work day exceeds the number of hours established as the
normal work day for the job classification, and/or
2. The work week exceeds the number of hours established as the
normal work week for their job classification.
All eligible employees who are scheduled to work on an official
holiday, shall be compensated at their normal rate of pay in
addition to receiving their holiday pay which will be determined
by the employee's regular hourly rate of pay multiplied by the
number of hours in his/her normal work day.
Employees whose normal day off falls on a scheduled holiday,
will be permitted to reschedule an alternative holiday in lieu
of the scheduled holiday. The rescheduling will be subject to
the approval of the department head.
All eligible employees will be paid straight time for court
attendance, trainings, meetings etc. which do not take place
during their scheduled normal work hours. (Court attendance to
represent the Village)
First line supervisors will not be considered eligible for any
additional compensation except, under specific circumstances.
For purposes of this section, the following positions will be
classified as first line supervisory positions:

Fire Lieutenant

Water
Foreman
2.
Police Sergeant
6.
Sewer
Foreman
3.
Street Foreman
7.
Land
and Forestry Foreman
4.
Vehicle Mtn. Foreman
8.
Bldg.
Inspector Supervisor
First line supervisors will be eligible for overtime compensation
at a rate of time and one half under the following circumstances:
1. When the needs of the department are such that the first line
supervisor must work additional days and/or hours because of
inadequate supervisory manpower.
2. When emergency situations develop which require their super-
vision. (Emergency situations for purposes of this item, shall
be defined by the first line supervisor's department head.
First line supervisors, as defined above, shall be paid straight
time for court attendance, which does not take place during their
scheduled normal working hours. (Court attendance to represent
the Village)
