Pursuant to a duly made and approved motion and a majority vote at a regularly scheduled meeting
of the Mayor and Board of Trustees on February 28, 2023, this Executive Session was called to
consider review of Land Acquisition.

Sonny Patel has accepted the purchase offer for La Quinta. Mr. Patel's initial request was $13
million dollars and the counter offer was $9 million dollars. The Mayor had discussed the long
term residents staying at the hotel which is illegal. Mr. Patel agreed to sell La Quinta for $10
million dollars, and the Village will pay the $300,000 in brokerage fees and La Quinta will be
closed by April 24, 2023 at 2 p.m. The agreement also allows them one month to remove any
items necessary so the building will be ready for demolition by the end of May. The Mayor
shared there is a possible interest in a Marriot hotel in the location and advised the Hibachi
restaurant will remain.
The meeting was adjourned at 6:27 pm.
