Number of pages attached: 1 Date(s) of review for release: February 2025 Date of approval for release: Date approved by Village Board: July 18, 2023 April 25, 2023 6:22 pm The Mayor shared an update on the Elk Grove Woods Shopping Center Redevelopment. The open house was well attended with over 200 people. The overall feedback was positive, many people did not provide written comments and only verbally expressed their support for the project, design, and style. One comment asked whether Village residents could get priority in choice of apartments and townhomes. The Mayor shared that the Village Attorney will look into any legal or discriminatory issues with prioritizing residents to have a first choice at the properties or whether any incentive such as a half month free rent for Village residents can be an option. The Mayor also brought up an idea for a contest to invite people to name the development since one has not been determined yet. The contest would allow residents to submit their ideas and the winner would be awarded a $200 gift card. The Mayor shared that the Board and Developer would review and decide the final name for the development. This contest will allow the public to be involved and offer input. No Village employees or elected officials will be allowed to submit names. The consensus of the Board was to approve the contest idea. The Mayor stated that the next step for the development will include a Plan Commission public — hearing. The Mayor also shared that the Rose Garden will be officially relocating to the new location the week of May 22 and that BMO Harris is now operating out of their new location. The meeting was adjourned at 6:27 pm.
