MAYOR & BOARD OF TRUSTEES' REPORT Mayor Johnson — The March Budget meeting is coming up. We continue to take excess money to pay down our debt. This will be the third year in a row. The election is on April 1, 2025 and the board is running unopposed. A resident reached out to the board regarding chicken coops. The Village Board is not interested in the idea of having chicken coops. The Fire Department recently received a $26,000 Grant for a Personal Protective Equipment Decon Washer that cleans their equipment after use. The Village is working on annexing the Cemetery into Elk Grove Village. That is the only cemetery that has documented Revolutionary War Veterans. We will then have a fundraiser to help restore the area as far as fencing, driveway, and most importantly some of the headstones. Next year is the Village's 70th Birthday and also the Country's 2501h Birthday so what better time to restore the cemetery on July 4, 2026.
