Business Website
The Committee heard an informational presentation from Director of Business Development and
Marketing, Sue Dees. The presentation announced the new business development website,
elkgrovebusiness.org, which replaced the outdated EGVbizhub.com. The new site URL aligns
with the URL of the Village's main website, elkgrove.org. The former website, created in 2013,
was difficult to navigate, lacked search engine optimization (SEO), and had duplicate content,
prompting the need for a refreshed and updated website.
The website update stemmed from the Envision Elk Grove initiative, which identified the need to
modernize the platform to provide a better user experience and support both current and new
businesses. Key features include a homepage with video content from the business community,
map feature highlighting strategic advantages, a business start-up guide, and consolidated
business resource page that highlight tax incentives, financing, support resources, and
networking. The site also focuses on supporting local businesses through grants and other
resources, while offering new business information on starting operations in Elk Grove.
The website features updated branding and tracks user engagement. The site is fully operational
and aims to streamline access to business services and support in Elk Grove Village.
The Committee expressed support for the new website and the improved functionality for
businesses.
