A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING THE EXTENSION OF THE STATE AND LOCAL FISCAL
ASSISTANCE ACT OF 1972, AS AMENDED (THE REVENUE SHARING ACT)
WHEREAS, the State and Local Fiscal Assistance Act of 1972, as amended
(The Revenue Sharing Act) is to expire on September 30, 1980, through Entitlement
Period LL; and
WHEREAS, the major goal of the Act was to redistribute Federal funds to
eligible governments for their use on viable programs and activities; and
WHEREAS, municipal governments need fiscal aid to adequately meet the ever
increasing demands for additional services and projects; and
WHEREAS, the failure to extend this program to these governments raises
the possibility of either reduced services and project cut backs or increased
taxes or fees to fund such services and projects,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the President and Board of Trustees of
the Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of Cook and DuPage, State of Illinois:
1. The Congress of the United States extend and the President of
the United States approve the extension of the State and Local
Fiscal Assistance Act of 1972, as amended,
2. That the Village Clerk is hereby directed to submit copies of this
resolution to President of the United States James Carter, Senators
Charles H. Percy, and Adlai E. Stevenson and to Representative Philip
M. Crane.
3. That this resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after
its passage and approval according to law,
