A RESOLUTION HONORING THE ELK GROVE HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS' BASKETBALL TEAM
WHEREAS, the Elk Grove High School Girls' Basketball Team has distinguished
itself by winning the 1979-80 Regional and Sectional basketball games; and
WHEREAS, the Elk Grove High School Girls' Basketball Team has become one
of the "Sweet 16" teams in the State of Illinois; and
WHEREAS, recognition is given to Principal Donald H. Fyfe, Athletic Director
Robert Tipsword, Coaches Marcia Gordon, Jeffery Stewart, Betty Mathews and the
following team members:
Barb Bassett Kathy Leyden
Terese Bruzzino Kris Karmen
Faith Minmaugh Debbie Munson
Beth Sass Sue Hoday
Laurie Van Haften Karen Hellyer
Tracy Kahn Debbie Pasko
WHEREAS, this is the first time in the Elk Grove High School history that
the girls' basketball team has advanced this far and was the result of overall
determination, self sacrifice and dedication displayed by the above mentioned
coaches and players.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the President and Board of Trustees of
the Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of Cook and DuPage, State of Illinois,
as follows:
Section 1. That the Elk Grove High School Girls' Basketball Team is hereby
commended for the honor they have bestowed upon the Village and upon the High
School by winning the Regional and Sectional basketball games.
Section 2. That this resolution shall be in full force and effect from
and after its passage and approval according to law.
