A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE VILLAGE PRESIDENT TO SIGN AN AGREEMENT
WITH THE COOK COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF HIGHWAYS TO JOINTLY FINANCE THE
INSTALLATION OF TRAFFIC SIGNALS AT BIESTERFIELD ROAD AND WELLINGTON AVE.

of Illinois:
Section 1. That the Village President be and is hereby authorized to
sign the attached documents marked Agreement, Traffic Signais,Biesterfieid
Road at Wellington Avenue Section 229 -0505 -MFT 78 -12706 -00 -TL
, a copy of which is attached hereto and made a part
hereof as if full set forth and the Village Clerk is authorized to
attest said documents upon the signature of the Village President.
Section 2. That this resolution shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passa.-e and approval according to law.

AGREEMENT
TRAFFIC SIGNALS
THE COUNTY OF COOK BIESTERFIELD ROAD
at Wellington Avenue
VILLAGE OF ELK GROVE VILLAGE SECTION 229-0505-MFr

THIS AGREEMENT made and entered into by and between the County of
Cook, a body politic and corporate of the State of Illinois, here-
inafter called County, and the VILLAGE of ELK GROVE VILLAGE, a mun-
icipal corporation of Illinois
hereinafter called Applicant, Witnesseth, Whereas:
A. Applicant has requested County to do the following:
Design, install and maintain traffic -actuated, volume -density
controlled traffic signals at the intersection of Biesterfield
Road and Wellin ton Avenue. The north/south crosswalk on the west side of
thg interpectign en the east/west crg$wal on the south side of the intersection
will be Signaize or pe estrian tratic.
B. The preliminary cost estimate of this work is: $80,000
NOW'THEREFORE Applicant and County agree as follows:
1. County will design, install and cause to be maintained the improve-
ment requested by Applicant as described in Whereas Clause A above.
2. Upon completion of installation and acceptance, Applicant will:
a. Pay County fifty percent (50%) of the maintenance
charges, each payment to be made within thirty (30) days of
date of County's quarterly bill for same. Each payment will
be by certified check mailed to County's Superintendent of
Highways, payable to the Treasurer for Cook County for deposit
in County's Motor Fuel Tax Fund, Account No. 600-570.
b. Assume fifty percent (501) of the electrical energy
charges, payable to the Commonwealth Edison Company in accord-
ance with the electrical services contract to be entered into
between the Edison Company and County.
C. Pay its share, fifty . 0percent (50%) of the installation
costs of the improvement described in Whereas Clause A above.
All payments are to be by certified check mailed to County's
Superintendent of Highways, payable to the Treasurer for Cook
County for,deposit in County's Motor Fuel Tax Fund, Account
600-570. The payment schedule is as follows: (estimated share,
$40,000).
Completion of installation and acceptance shall be the date of in-
spection of the completed installation. County will be responsible
for settings and timings.

3. This agreement shall become effective on the later date of
execution following and shall bind the parties hereto, their
successors and assigns; however it shall be voiaable in ,
eyent County fails to award the contract by, November 30, 1983.
In Witness Whereof,County and Applicant have caused their respective
duly authorized officials to place their duly attested signatures of
execution below, and have attached enabling minutes or resolutions
(certified or original copies) to each copy of this agreement; one
original for Applicant, one original for County Comptroller, two
originals for County's Highway Department.
