A RESOLUTION CANVASSING THE VOTES AT THE REGULAR
ELECTION OF VILLAGE OFFICIALS HELD APRIL 17, 1973
AND DECLARING THE RESULTS THEREOF
WHEREAS, a regular election was held in and for the Village of Elk
Grove Village, Counties, of Cook and Du Page, Illinois on Tuesday, April
19, 1979 for the purpose of electing three Village Trustees (each for a
4 year term), a Village Clerk (2 year term), and three Library Directors
(2 for a term of 6 years, and 1 for a term of two years); and a refer-
endum to appoint or elect a Village Clerk.
WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees conducted a canvass by
examining the official tally sheets and returns of the various judges in
the various precincts as to the votes cast at said election and are ready
to report:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the President and Board of Trustees
of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Cook and DuPage Counties, Illinois,
as follows:
Section 1: That said election was duly held as provided by law.
Section 2: That a total of 1334 votes were cast in the following
manner:
For the office of Village Trustee:
Michael Tosto 1012
Edward R. Hauser 1031
Michael Q. Pope 194
James P. Petri 696
Helen McMahon 507
For the Office of Village Clerk:
Section 3: That a total of 1321 votes were cast for a referendum
asking, "SHALL THE OFFICE OF THE VILLAGE CLERK OF THE VILLAGE OF ELK GROVE
VILLAGE, COOK & DUPAGE COUNTY, ILLINOIS BE MADE AN APPOINTED POSITION, BY
THE VILLAGE PRESIDENT, WITH THE ADVICE AND CONSENT OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES
INSTEAD OF AN ELECTED OFFICE". YES 738 NO 583
Section 4: That a total of 1334 votes were cast for the office of
Library Director in the following manner:

Section 5: That Michael Tosto. Edward R. Hauser and James P. Petri
received the highest number of votes for the office of Village Trustee and
they are hereby declared elected to the office of Village Trustee of the
Village of Elk Grove Village for a term of four (4) years each.
Section 6: With the approval of the referendum to appoint a Village
Clerk, the office of Village Clerk is hereby declared an appointed position.
Section 7: That Molly F. Norwood and Ronald W. Satzke received the
highest number of votes for the office of Library Director (6 year term)
and they are hereby declared elected to the office of Library Director of
the Village of Elk Grove Village for a term of six (6) years each.
Section 8: That Darlene J. Greaves received the highest number of
votes for the office of Library Director (2 year term) and is hereby
declared elected to the office of Library Director of the Village of Elk
Grove Village for a term of two (2) years.
Section 9: That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage and approval according to law.
