HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTION - 30-25 - 5/13/2025 - 2025 CONSOLIDATED ELECTION RESULTS FOR VILLAGE OFFICIALSRESOLUTION NO. 30-25 A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE RESULTS OF THE CANVASS CONDUCTED BY THE CANVASSING BOARD OF THE COOK COUNTY CLERK'S OFFICE OF THE VOTES OF THE CONSOLIDATED ELECTION FOR VILLAGE OFFICIALS HELD ON TUESDAY, APRIL 1, 2025 AND PROCLAIMING THE RESULTS WHEREAS, a Consolidated Election was held in and for the Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of Cook and DuPage, Illinois, on Tuesday, April 1, 2025 for the purpose of electing one (1) Mayor; three (3) Village Trustees - each for a four (4) year term; and three (3) Library Trustees — two (2) for a six (6) year term; and one (1) for an unexpired two (2) year term; and WHEREAS, the Cook County Clerk canvassed the results of the election and as required by Statute transmitted the following totals to the Village Clerk. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Board of Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Cook and DuPage Counties, Illinois, as follows: Section 1: That said election was duly held as provided by law. Section 2: That a total of 3,759 ballots were cast in the following manner: For the Office of Mayor: Votes Craig B. Johnson 3,252 For the Office of Village Trustee: Votes Jeffrey C. Franke 2,920 Keith Lasken 2,795 Joseph D. Bush 2,834 For the Office of Library Board of Trustees (six (6) year term): Votes JoAnn Shafar 2,870 Isela Catania 2,721 For the Office of Library Board of Trustee (two (2) year unexpired term) Votes Timothy Burns 11 Section 3: That the Proclamation of the Canvassing Board is hereby accepted in total. Section 4: That Craig B. Johnson received the highest number of votes for the Office of Mayor and is hereby declared elected to the Office of Mayor of the Village of Elk Grove Village for a term of four (4) years. Section 5: That Jeffrey C. Franke, Keith Lasken, and Joseph D. Bush received the highest number of votes for the Office of Village Trustee of the Village of Elk Grove Village and are hereby declared elected to the Office of Village Trustee for a term of four (4) years. Section 6: That JoAnn Shafar and Isela Catania received the highest number of votes for the Office of Library Board of Trustees and are hereby declared elected to the Office of Library Board of Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove Village for a term of six (6) years. Section 7: That Timothy Burns received the highest number of votes for the Office of Library Board of Trustee and is hereby declared elected to the office of Library Trustee of the Village of Elk Grove Village for an unexpired term of two (2) years. Section 8: That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval according to law.
