WHEREAS, the Reverend J. Ward Morrison has been Pastor of the
Queen of The Rosary Parish in the Village of Elk Grove Village for the -
past nineteen years; and
WHEREAS, the Reverend J. Ward Morrison will be retiring as
Pastor of the Parish in late 1979 and leaving this community; and
WHEREAS, the Reverend J. Ward Morrison has been a leading force
in the development of this community through his love, counsel, dynamic
personality, capacity for human compassion, friendship and help to the
poor and needy, and has enriched the spiritual lives of all residents
of this community; and
WHEREAS, the Reverend J. Ward Morrison has served as Chaplain
of the Elk Grove Village Fire Department since April 6, 1971; and
WHEREAS, his presence will be missed by all, both parishioners
and nonparishioners; and
WHEREAS, it is both fitting and proper that the Reverend J. Ward
Morrison be recognized for his many special services to his God, country
and community.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the President and Board of -
Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of Cook and
DuPage, Illinois:
Section 1. That the Reverend J. Ward Morrison is hereby
commended for the leadership he provided in the
development of the Village and for setting an
example for all by his love and faith in God and
his dedication to this community.
Section 2. That on behalf of the Village of Elk Grove Village
he is hereby extended our sincerest wishes for
good health and happiness in his retirement.
Section 3. That this resolution shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage and approval
according to law.
