A RESOLUTION HONORING THE ELK GROVE HIGH SCHOOL VARSITY BASKETBALL
TEAM.1977-78 SEASON
WHEREAS, the Elk Grove High School Varsity Basketball Team has distinguished
itself by becoming the Mid -Suburban South Division Champions, Regional Champions
and winners of one game in the Sectional Tournament; and
WHEREAS. the Elk Grove High School Varsity Basketball Team provided their
fans with an excellent season highlighted by fine coaching anc exceptional
individual and team effort of its; basketball players; and
WHEREAS, recognition is given to Principal Donald Ring Ph.D, Coack Ken Grams,
Assistant Coaches Jack Hult and Ken Rundquist and Student Manager Mike Granskog
and the following team members:

Kirk Goodyear
Bruce Hedgepeth
Scott Kobus
Mike McInerney
Tim Mimnaugh
Bill Norwood
Craig Parker
Tom Rupkey
Ron Sanders
Tim Schwerzler
WHEREAS, the Championships were won as a result of the overall determination,
self sacrifice and dedication desplayed by the above mentioned coaches and players.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the President and Board of Trustees of the
Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of Cook and DuPage, Illinois, as follows:
SECTION 1. That the Elk Grove High School Varsity Basketball Team is hereby
commended for the honor they have bestowed upon the Village and High School by
winning the Mid -Suburban South Division Championship, the Regional Championship
and one game in the Sectional Tournament.
SECTION 2. That this resolution shall be in full force and effect from and
after its passage and approval according to law.
