A RESOLUTION DIRECTED TO THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY IN OPPOSITION TO THE
ELECTION CONSOLIDATION HOUSE BILL NO. 2554 AND SENATE BILL NO. 1419
WHEREAS, the Village of Elk Grove Village desires to make known its
objections to the passage of House Bill No. 2554 relating to the consoli-
dation of elections; and
WHEREAS, the far reacbing effects of the provisions of this bill need
further consideration and review; and
WHEREAS, additional time is imperative in order that provisions relat-
ing to election consolidation can be carried out in an orderly fashion in the
interest of cost and the convenience to citizens;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the President and Board of Trustees
of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of Cook and Du Page, Illinois:
Section 1. That the Village of Elk Grove Village does strongly oppose
the adoption of House Bill No. 2554 and Senate Bill No. 1419 in their present
form.
Section 2. That the Village of Elk Grove Village urges a delay of two
years before implementation of the consolidation of elections in order that
regulations and provisions relating thereto are thoroughly studied.
Section 3. That this resolution shall be in full force and effect from
and after its passage and approval according to law.
