Pursuant to a duly made and approved motion and a majority vote at a regularly scheduled meeting
of the Mayor and Board of Trustees on May 28, 2024, this Executive Session was called to consider
review of Personnel.

Following the retirement of Deputy Chief Torres, there will be an opening for a new Deputy Chief.
Commander Sheara Garrison, Commander Shaun Berens, and Commander Bill Callahan applied for the
position. The Board also discussed that Deputy Chief Dan Burke's position will be vacant in the near
future. It is likely that the other Deputy Chief position will be filled by an outside candidate. There is
interest in a candidate who previously worked at Buffalo Grove and is currently a deputy with the DuPage
County Forest Preserve.
The Mayor shared that the goal is to swear in a new Deputy Chief on June 18 at the Village Board
meeting.
Seven (7) Sergeants applied for the Commander opening which will be created following the promotion
of a Commander to Deputy Chief. The sergeants that applied were Dan Doherty, Michael McIntyre,
Thomas Malloy, Josh Swoboda, Jason Gottwald, Casey Kowalczyk, and Efren Pelayo.
