Mayor Johnson proposed that the Village offer to split the cost of this new SRO 50150, instead of the usual 75/25. The Board was receptive to this idea. The consensus of the Board was to authorize increased strength by two Police Officers in order to back fill SRO Palmese and the new SRO for the elementary schools. The consensus of the Board was to split the cost of the additional SRO with School District 59 by 50150. Village Manager Roan advised that a confirming item would be placed on the August Board meeting Agenda. The Mayor shared that the next steps will include a meeting with the Police Department and School District 59 to review the process for the rotating SRO at the grade schools. It was also mentioned that Elk Grove High School Principal Paul Kelly has asked for an additional SRO officer at the High School. Mayor Johnson has advised EGHS that the Village doesn't currently have the manpower to fulfill this request. The meeting was adjourned at 6:34 pm.
