A RESOLUTION HONORING THE ELK GROVE HIGH SCHOOL JAZZ BAND 1975-76
WHEREAS, the Elk Grove High School Jazz Band has distinguished itself
by becoming the 1976 ''Best of Bands'' at the Oak Lawn Jazz Festival of the
III schools in competition; and
WHEREAS, the Elk Grove High School Jazz Band has also -distinguished
Itself by placing First in high school competition at Eastern Illinois
University and at Millikin University; and
WHEREAS, the Elk Grove High School Jazz Band received national recognition
for its contribution to the Jazz art form;and
WHEREAS, Musical Director Douglas Peterson and Assistant Director Gary
Parker and the following band members:

WHEREAS, the recognition and additional honors were granted as a result of
artistic achievement, overall determination, self sacrifice and dedication
displayed by the above mentioned directors and band members.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the President and Board of Trustees of the
Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of Cook and DuPage, State of Illinois as
follows:
Section 1. That the Elk Grove High School Jazz Band is hereby commended
for the honors they have bestowed upon the Village and High School by their
excellence in musical achievement,
Section 2. That this resolution shall be in full force and effect from
and after its passage and approval according to law.
