HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTION - 52-76 - 7/27/1976 - IL MUNICIPAL LEAGUERESOLUTION NO, 52-76 A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE ILLINOIS MUNICIPAL LEAGUE TO INVESTIGATE A PROPOSED RATE INCREASE FOR PRIVATE LINE AND MILEAGE SERVICE BY THE ILLINOIS BELL TELEPHONE COMPANY NOW BEING HEARD BEFORE THE ILLINOIS COMMERCE COMMISSION WHEREAS, the Illinois Bell Telephone Company has petitioned the Illinois Commerce Commission for a rate increase for Private Line and Mileage Service; and WHEREAS, the proposed rate increase would have statewide application to municipalities and would significantly contribute to the cost of providing emergency service to our citizens; and WHEREAS, this proposed rate increase can effect any municipality that uses remote controlled radio base stations, alarms, and remote metering, (such as water levels, pump rates) in direct costs. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of Cook and DuPage, Illinois; that the Illinois Municipal League is hereby respectfully requested to investigate the justification for said proposed rate increase by Illinois Bell Telephone Company which is currently being heard before the Illinois Commerce Commission and to take appropriate action. Section 1; That this resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval according to law. PASSED this —27th day of Ju I y 1976. APPROVED this 27th day of July 1976.
