A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING THE VILLAGE OF SCHAUMBURG' S REQUEST FOR A
LOCAL JUVENILE COURT
WHEREAS, the Village of Elk Grove Village is part of the Third Municipal
District of the Circuit Court of Cook County, which is one of the fastest
growing portions of the Chicago Metropolitan Area; and
WHEREAS , the Village of Elk Grove Village and the surrounding area have a
great need for juvenile court facilities in order to curb the spread of juvenile
crime and deliquency in the Northwest suburban area; and
WHEREAS, the Village of Elk Grove Village is a neighboring municipality
of and sympathetic with the Village of Schaumburg and its concern that the
present facilities of the Cock County Juvenile Court are insufficient to serve
the citizens of this area; and
WHEREAS, the present location of said facilities have caused substantial
inconvenience to the citizens and Police Departments of the Village of Elk Grove
Village and surrounding communities; and
WHEREAS, the new public safety building of the Village of Schaumburg will
provide new central Court facilities for the Third Municipal District and said
facilities will be suitable and adequate for a local branch of the Juvenile
Court.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the President and Board of Trustees of
the Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of Cook and DuPage , State of Illinois ,
as follows:
Section 1 : That the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Elk
Grove Village do hereby support the request made by the Village
of Schaumburg, that the Circuit Court of Cook County provide a
local branch of the Juvenile Court in the new public safety
building of the Village of Schaumburg and assign the necessary
judicial and other court personnel to the facility.

Section 2: That copies of this resolution shall be transmitted to the
Chief Judge of the Circuit Court , the presiding Judge of the
Third Municipal District , and the President and members of the
County Boaru and local members of the General Assembly.
Section 3: That this resolution shall be in full force and effect from
and after its passage and approval according to law.
