A RESOLUTION THE CONGRESS OF THE UNITED STATES TO CONTINUE THE
REVENUE SHARI.,G PRiiGRAM UNDER THE STATE AND LOCAL FISCAL ASSISTANCE ACT
WHEREAS, the Village of Elk Grove Village has an obligation to its
citizens to provide services for the health and well-being of its residents,
and,
WHEREAS, the Village of Elk Grove Village is experiencing increased
growth and develo::-ent within its corporate boundaries demanding increased
services, and,
A'HFREAS, the Coraorate Authorities of the Villaae of Elk Grove Village
are concerned a:,out r..aintainina a co.istant tax level, and not increasing
the burde.- c` taxation on its residents, while maintaining a high level
of ser:--ce, and,
WH.£RE.%.S, t:^e Federal Revenue Sharing Program is providing the
additio.-a_ revenues from the Federal Government out of current tax efforts
to supp_e-ent the tax effort within the Village of Elk Grove Village, and,
these Federal Funds are assisting the Village of Elk Grove
Village _n prov`d`ng services while maintaining a constant level of
taxation, -
NOT, T.HER£FCRE, BE IT RESOLVED by the President and Board of Trustees
of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of Cook and DuPage, Illinois:
Section 1 That the State and Local Fiscal Assistance Act be
continued and that no restrictions and modifications to the current
legislation be -ade, which might otherwise cause additional tax
burdens on the residents of the Village of Elk Grove Village and/or
a reduction of the effectiveness or number of services provided by
the Village.
Section 2. That the Village Clerk forward copies of this Resolution
to the Congress of the United States and its local representatives
within that body, the DuPage County Board, and the Cook County Board.
Section 3. That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage and approval according to law.
