A RESOLUTION COMMENDING THE COOK COUNTY HIGIT,'AY DEPARTMENT ON THE
RECONSTRUCTION AND WIDENING OF ARLINGTON HEIGHTS ROAD FROM SALT
CREEK TO DEVON AVENUE IN THE VILLAGE OF ELK GROVE VILLAGE. ILLI'IOIS
WHEREAS, the Village of Elk Grove Village had actively requested
the reconstruction and widening of Arlington Heights Road from Salt
Creek to Devon Avenue, and
WHEREAS, the Village of Elk Grove Village has actively cooperated
with the Cook County Highway Department to accelerate the improvement
of Arlington Heights Road, and
WHEREAS, the Cook County Board of COmTllssloners and the Cook County
Highs -ay Department responded favorably with on action program and contract
for the widening anti improvement of Arlington Heights Road from Salt Creek
to Devon Avenue by completing engineering drawings and awarding contracts
for construction work, and
WHEREAS, the County Highs:ay Department retained Milburn Brothers, Inc.
as the primary contractor for the improvements of Arlington Heights Road as
aforementioned described, and
WHEREAS, the contractor, Milburn Brothers, Inc., began construction
activity in the Spring, 1973 on underground work and in the Fall of 1973
on surface improvements to the roadway, and
WHEREAS, the Cook County Highway Department and its personnel, in close
cooperation with the contractor, Milburn Brothers, Inc.,and appropriate
Village Officials, proceeded to execute the construction project in a diligent
workmanship and expedient manner,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the President and Board of Trustees
of the Village of Elk Grove Village that the Cook County President and
Board of Commissioners and the Cook County High%;ay Department and Milburn
Brothers, Inc. be and are hereby commended for having undertaken and completed
in an efficient and worlananlike manner the completion of the Arlington Heights
Road Improvement V,cgram in the Village of Elk Grove Village,
BE IT FLIRTHFR RESOLVED that the President and Board of Trustees of the
Village of Elk Grope Village publicly compliment the Cook County Highway
Department and its contractor Milburn Brothers, Inc. for having successfully
completed the project -.ell ahead of the antieip-,ted planned time schedule.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of thisresolution be sent to
the Cook County President and Board of Trustees, the Cook County High-
way Department and Milburn Brothers, Inc., Paddock Publications and other
appropriate news media.
This resolution having been adopted on this 22nd day of
January 1974, is hereby declared an appropriate expression
of appreciation by the Village of Elk Grove Village for a job well done in
rebuilding
the south half
of
Arlington
Heights Road
in Elk Grove Village.
