HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTION - 7-74 - 2/12/1974 - AGRMT/VILLAGE PERSONNEL RESOLUTION NO. 7-74 A RESOLUTION REGARDING AN AGREEMENT BY VILLAGE PERSONNEL PARTICIPATING IN THE MOBILE INTENSIVE CARE TRAINING PROGRAM AT ALEXIAN BROTHERS MEDIC,L CENTER,. NOW, THEREFORE , BE IT RESOLVED by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of Cook and DuPage, State of Illinois: Section 1 . That each of the Village personnel , participating in the Mobile Intensive Care Training Program are authorized to sign an agreement setting forth the medical procedures or medication which the individual will be allowed to administer, a copy of which agreement is attached hereto and made a part hereof as if fully set forth. Section 2. That this resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval according to law. PASSED this 12th day of February 1974. BROTHERS IIEDICAL CENTER EMERGENCY MEDICAL TECHNICIAA - A AGRECIIEHT The undersigned hereby states that: (a) He is an Emergency Medical Technician with the Ell: Grove Village Fire Department. (b) He agrees to observe all the rules and regulations of Alexian Brothers Medical Center while participating in the Medical Center's Ambulance Personnal Training Program (the "Program) conducted by the Medical Center for employees of the Elk Grove Village Fire Department. (c) He agrees to become involved in only the following types of emergency medical care and only under the direct supervision of a registered nurse or an emergency room physician while participating in the Program: 1. Basic wound care - wash wound, prepare for physician to suture; 2. Prepare patient to be examined by physician; 3. Assist with splint applications ; 4. Application of minor dressings and ace bandages ; 5. Observe and record vital signs , including blood pressure , pulse, respiration and temperature ; 6. Assist in observation of patient. (d) While participating in the Program, he continues to be an employee of the Ell: Grove Village Fire Department for all purposes and he is not an employee of the Medical Center. tr. I (e) He agrees to follow the supervision and direction of all Medical Center personnel in general , and emergency room personnel in particular, throughout his participation in the Program. Dated: Emergency Medical Technician -2- MOBILE INTElSIVE CARE ALEXIAN BROTHERS MEDICAL CENTER PARAt1EDIC AGREEMENT The undersigned hereby states that: (a) He is a Paramedic employed by the Elk Grove Village Fire Department. (b) He has been certified by the Illinois Department of Public Health in the category of mobile intensive care personnel . (c) He agrees to observe all the rules and regulations of Alexian Brothers Medical Center while participating in the Medical Center's Ambulance Personnel Training Program (the "Program") conducted by the Medical Center for employees of the Elk Grove Village Fire Department. (d) He agrees to become involved in only the following types of emergency medical care and only under the direct supervision of a registered nurse or anemergency room physician while participating in the Program: 1. Administer cardio-pulmonary resuscitation; 2. Observe and record vital signs , including blood pressure, pulse, respiration and temperature; 3. Defibrillate only under direct supervision of a physician; 4. Give Tetanus injections only; 5. Assist in splinting; 6. Start intravenous fluids (D5/W, Ringers Lactate) ; . r 7. Airway insertion: 8. Intubation - D.O.A. 's for practice in an emergency situation, only under direct supervision of a physician; 9. Wound care - prepare Mound for suturing; 10. Use of oxygen equipment; 11. Assist in patient observation; 12. Application of dressings ; 13. Application of ace bandages ; 14. Review of staff-patient, staff-staff relationships . (e) While participating in the Program, he continues to be an employee of the Elk Grove Village Fire Department for all purposes, and he is not an employee of the Medical Center. (f) He agrees to follow the supervision and direction of all Medical Center personnel in general , and emergency room personnel in particular, throughout his participation in the Program.
