A RESOLUTION COMMENDING THE REVEREND J. WARD MORRISON
WHEREAS, on April 7, 1974, the Reverend J. Ward Morrison will be
honored on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of his ordination to
the Priesthood; and
WHEREAS, the Reverend J. Ward Morrison has been Pastor of the
Queen of The Rosary Church for over 14 years, the largest Church in
family membership in Elk Grove Village; and
WHEREAS, the Reverend J. Ward Morrison with his dynamic person-
ality and through his capacity for human compassion, love for children,
friendship and understanding, has been a guiding factor in the growth
of the community and has enriched the spiritual lives of both parish-
ioners and non -parishioners; and
WHEREAS, the Reverend J. Ward Morrison has done much to help the
poor and needy and the migrant workers in the area through monetary
contriFutions and in providing from the parishioners, donations of food
and clothing; and
WHEREAS, the Reverend J. Ward Morrison was appointed on April 6,
1971 as Chaplain of the Elk Grove Village Fire Department; and
WHEREAS, the Reverend J. Ward Morrison was chosen in 1969 as
"CITIZEN OF THE YEAR" by the Jaycees, receiving their 1st Annual Award;
and
WHEREAS, it is both fitting and proper that the Reverend J. Ward
Morrison be recognized for his many very special contributions.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the President and Board of
Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of Cook and
DuPage, State of Illinois.
Section 1: That the Reverend J. Ward Morrison is hereby
commended for his sustained service which has
provided a vital roll in the growth of the
Village and for setting an example for all men
by his love and faith in God and dedication to
his community.
Section 2: That on behalf of the Village we extend to him
our sincerest wishes for health and happiness,
which he so richly deserves.
Section 3: That this resolution shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage and approval
according to law.
Passed this 2nd day of April 1974.
