A RESOLUTION COMMENDING MEMBERS OF THE ELK GROVE VILLAGE
FIRE DEPARTMENT FOR EXTRAORDINARY AND DEDICATED LIFE-
SAVING SERVICES.
WHEREAS, on Sunday, November 3 , 1974, emergency and rescue service were
requested from the Village of Elk Grove Fire Department to assist at an
accident at Irving Park Road and Lawrence Avenue in Roselle, Illinois in-
volving a Roselle police squad car, and
WHEREAS, the Village of Elk Grove responded to the Mutual Aid call
with a Para-Medic Ambulance and Fire Engine staffed by qualified paramedics
and firefighting personnel , and
WHEREAS, Firefighters Gregory Riddle, Lawrence Ryan, Philip Haverland,
James Sunagel , John Serbec, and Robert Hermann performed services in an
outstanding and professional manner for several hours , thereby extricating
Roselle Police Officer Clifford Colsten from his extensively damaged squad
car, and transporting the injured Officer to Alexian Brothers Medical Center
for further medical treatment.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that Firefighters Gregory Riddle,
Lawrence Ryan, Philip Haverland, James Sunagel , John Serbec, and Robert
Hermann be commended for their dedicated service and a copy of this
Resolution be presented to each Firefighter, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Resolution be in full force and
effect from and after its passage and approval according to law.
