A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING BOCA BUILDING CODE CHANGE AS IT RELATES TO FIRE
SUPPRESSION SYSTEMS
WHEREAS, the loss of life and property continues to increase each
year, and
WHEREAS, approximately 12,200 lives were taken by fire during the
past year throughout the United States, and
WHEREAS, property destruction amounted to over 2 billion dollars
and an untold number of jobs and production, and
WHEREAS, it is the responsibility of every citizen of the Village
of Elk Grove Village to be concerned about safety to life and property
from fire, and
WHEREAS, The Village of Elk Grove Village has established a Building
Code to regulate construction to protect the citizens, industries and
businesses of the Village from fire, and
WHEREAS, the proposed change No. M60-73 to the BOCA Basic Mechanical
Code as it revises Article 10 - Fire Suppression Systems, will afford
additional protection for safety to life and property.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the President and Board of Trustees
of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of Cook and DuPage, State of
Illinois, do hereby approve and recommend that the BOCA Mechanical Committee
adopt change No. M60 -73 -
Section 1. That this resolution shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage and approval according to law.
