RESOLUTION OPPOSING THE EXTREMELY HIGH COLLECTION CHARGES
FOR SALES AND SERVICE TAXES BY THE STATE OF ILLINOIS
WHEREAS, the State of Illinois has been collecting 4% of all
local sales tax collections when _it has also determined for many years
that the rate is excessive, and
WHEREAS, local governments also have a revenue crisis along
with the State of Illinois, and

it would seem that the State of Illinois should charge only those
amounts necessary to effectively collect the tax, and

collection fee of 2% is more than adequate,
NOW, THEREFORE., BE IT RESOLVED by the President and Board of
Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of Cook and
DuPage, State of Illinois, that the State Legislature and Governor of
the State of Illinois approve the reduction of 2% in the collection
