MUTUAL AID AGREEt1ENT
These .Articles of Agreement , made and entered into on
the day of A,D, 19 by and
between the Vi Hage of Elk Grove Village and the Wood Dale Fire Protection
District and food Dale Volunteer Fire De.nartrllent.
SECT I OII OI`lE - PURPOSE
The purpose of this agreement is to provide for a program
of Mutual Aid bett;een the Vi 1 lage of Elk; Grove Village and the ! ooa -dale Fire

Municipality will be obligated to respond to the Stricken
Municipality with such equipment and manpo;:rer as has been
predetermined by the Fire Chiefs of each municipality through
the Box Alarm Assignments.
SECTION Tr,10 - DEFINITIONS
For the purpose of this agreement, the following terms
. are defined as follows:
A. "1.lunicipaIity": A City,- Village or Fire Protection
District having a recognized Fire Department;
B. "Hutual Aid": A de `inite and prearr-nged written agree-
ment and plan whereby req�,Iar respon-e and assistance is
provided for in event of alarms from certain boxes or
lo( ,crons in a Stricken Municipality by the Aiding Muni-
cipality in accordance with the Box Alarm Assignments as
developed by the Fire Chiefs cf each Municipality;

C. "Participating Munici.palities": A Municipality that '
commits itself to this Mutual Aid Agreement by adopting
a resolution authorizing participation in the program
with another participating Municipality for rendering
and receiving Mutual Aid in the event of a fire or
• other disaster in accordance with the 3ox Alarm
Assignments;
D. "Stricken Municipality": The Municipality in which fire or
other disaster occurs that is of such a magnitude that it
cannot be adequately handled by the local Fire Department ;
E. "Aidinq Muni cinaIity": The 1.11unicipality furnishing fire
equipment and manpo%,:er to the Stricken Municipality.
SECTION THREE - AGREE;,EI1_1" TO
EFFECTUATE T :E I1!J i U,'kL AID PLAN
The Village President, Mayor , or Board of Trustees of each
participating Municipality is authorized on behalf of that Municipality,
to enter into and from time to ti,-,,.a to alter and amend on the advice of
the Fire Chief and with the consent of the governing body of that
Municipality, and agreen,,ent with another Municipality fol' Mutual Aid
according to the fo l l o�,.J ng:
1 . Whenever a fire or disaster- is of such magnitude and
consequence that it is deemed advisable by the Senior Officer
present , of the Stricken Municipality, to- request assistance
of the Aiding !Municipality, he is hereby authorized to do so,
under the terms of this Mutual `Aid Agreement and the Senior
Officer present of- the Aiding Municipality is authorized to
and shall forthwith take the follo,;jing action.
a. Immediately determine wh .t equip;,ent is required according
to the Mutual Aid Box Alarm Assignment .
b. Immediately determine if the required equipment
and personnel -an be committed in response to the
request from the Stricken Municipality.
C. Dispatch immediately the equipment required to the
Stricken Municipality, in accordance with the Box Alarm
Assignments.
2. The rendering of assistance under the terms of this Mutual
Aid Agreement shall not be mandatory in accordance with the
Box Alarm Assignments if local conditions prohibit response.
In that event it is the responsibility of the Aiding Munici -
pality to inmEA iate Iy notify the Stricken Municipality of satire .
3. Both of the participating Municipalities agree to waive all
claims against the other party for co:ipensation for any loss,
damage, personal injury or. death occurring in consequence of
the performance of this Mutual Aid Agreement . General
Liability Insurance , Personal Injury and Property Damage
Insurance against loss or damage of equiprent is the
responsibility of each of the Flunicipalities as it applies
• to their oam personnel and equip,m.ent. All services perfori„ed
under this Mutual Aid Agreement shall be rendered without
reimbursement of either Municipality.
4. The Senior Officer- present of the Stricken Municipality shall
assume full responsibility and co,mand for operations at the
scene. Fie will assign Senior Officers and- equipr;ent of the
Aiding Department to positions when and where he deems necessary.
5. The Fire Chief, Officers and personnel of both Municipalities
are invited and encouraged to frequently visit each others
faci 1 i ties for farri 1 iarizat ion tours, and to jointly x-onduct
traininq s^scions and hypothetical disaster exercises.
SECTION I"OUR - 11!S1JR/,?ICE
It is a requirement for each participating Municipality to be
responsible for their o•.-:n Comprehensive and 3odily Liability Insurance
to cover all of their o:in manpo,.:er and equipment and apparatus t%,hi le
operating in any Community. it is further the responsibility of each
• participating ►iunicipality to' pro:;ide full and complete Liability
Insurance.
SECTION f I VE - TER1 I t!.AT 10'!
This Mutual Aid may be terminated by either partici -
pating Municipality notifying, in writing, the Fire Chief of the other
Municipality of the ter . ination. 4lhereupon the ,'Mutual Aid Agrees-ent
shall be terminated 90 days after receipt of the k-.ritten notice to the
Fire Chief. -
SECT 1011 SIX - ADOPT I 0 1
This tlutual Aid Agrecment shall be in full force and in effect

participating Municipalities in the. manne-r provided by lat; cnd the
