WHEREAS, the Illinois Zoning Enabling Legislation was adopted in
1921, 50 years ago, and
WHEREAS, the State of Illinois Zcning Laws Study Commission was
established in 1969 to review, update and determine the State's interest
in zoning, and
WHEREAS, the Zoning Commission has held hearings and circulated a
preliminary report for discussion purposes to persons and institutions
having an interest in zoning, and
WHEREAS, the Zoning Com -mission is responding responsibly to all
interested parties, and
WEERIAS, "Chapter Six" is being restudied and reconstituted, and
WHERE?.,S, the Zoning Coirumission has found legitimate areas of
zoning concern for the St -ate of I11_incis vhich are compatible with
Home Pule, and
WHEREAS, the Zoning CO?tli',liss:i_on is going to recommend. to the General
Assead)ly and the Governor that the plunni:.g statutes ane, thee role of
the State in Comprehensive planning be the subject of study by a commission,
N0T9, Ti E_,E ORE, . be.it resolved that the Pre:�ident and Board of Trustees
of the Villaje of Elk Grove Village, Counties of Cook and Du Page, State of
Illinois, co,=iend the Illinois Zoning La�-7s Study Commission and its Chairman,
Eugene Schlicl:man, for outstanding;, dedicated and responsible service to
Illinois municipalities and to the -State of Illinois.
THAT this resolution shall be in full force and effect from and
after its passage and approval according to law.
