WHEREAS, the President of the United States has proposed a
program of Revenue Sharing whereby a percentage of the federal income
tax would be distributed to local governments; and
WHEREAS, such a program would provide funds without restrictions
as'to how they would be utilized by the locality; and
WHEREAS, the locality has very limited means of increasing its
local tax revenue and its obligations are continually increasing; and
WHEREAS, it appears that the Revenue Sharing Program would be bene-
ficial and necessary for the Village of Elk Grove Village to continue
to meet its obligation to provide better services for its residents;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT WE, the President and Board
of Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove Village do hereby support the
concept of Revenue Sharing as proposed by the President, and we will
encourage our Congressional delegation and United States Senators to
likewise support this vital concept of revenue sharing.
THAT THIS RESOLUTION shall be in full force and effect from and
after its passage and approval according to law.
