A RESOLUTION COP•'1•T:idDIXG THE ELK GROVE HIGH SCHOOL GYMASTIC TEM
WHEREAS, the Elk Grove High School Gymnastic Team has distinguished
itself by obtaining fourth place in the State Tournament, and has thereby
shown ability, sportsmanship and is deserving of the official appreciation
of the Village; and
WHEREAS, certain persons hereinafter mentioned have aided, encouraged and
participated in this endeavor and deserve special commendation of the Village;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the President and Board of Trustees of
the Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of Cook and DuPage, State of Illinois;
Section 1. That all members of the Elk Grove High School Gymnastic Team
are hereby commended for representing Elk Grove High School in the State Tourn-
ament, and for demonstrating not only ability but good sportsmanship, which is
iu.cessary to the building of good moral character in youth.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that in the Still Rims Competition, Benny Fernandez
placed,lst in the State, Jack Malmedahl hth in the State and Landy Fernandez 9th
in the State. In the Trampoline Event, Al Mitsos placed 6th in the State, and
Bill Helbig placed 17th in the State. In the Side Horse Event, Wayne Olson
placed 5th in the State and David Sakata placed 20th in the State. In the
Horizontal Bar Event, Dave Swenson placed 20th in the State. In the All Around
Event, Benny Fernandez placed 7th :in the State and Landy Fernandez placed 17th
iso the State. Head Coach, Fred Gaines and Assistant Coaches, Vic Avigliano and
Steve Chapple are hereby especially commended for making the foregoing accomplish -
went a reality.
Section 2. The Village Clerk is hereby directed to send a certified copy
of this resolution to the Elk Grove High School and to each member of the Gym-
nastic Team as well as all persons named herein.
Section 3. This resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after
its passage and approval according to law.
