RESOLUTION URGING THE BANNING OF
SUB -STANDARD HOUSING
WHEREAS, a housing task force appointed by the President of
the Village of Elk Grove Village has recommended that all public
agencies do everything in their power to prevent the exposure of
seasonal employees to sub -standard and illegal housing due to
the threat to loss of life-vhich has occurred as a result of such
sub -standard housing; and
WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees of the Village
of Elk Grove Village believe :it to be to their best interest that
the urging of the housing task force be formalized by official
resolution:
NOWV THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD

OF TRUSTEES of the Village of Elk Grove Village as follows:
Section 1: That the President and Board of Trustees of the
Village of Elk Grove Village do hereby urge that the Cook County
government and the governments of all townships and villages
lying therein strictly enforce its building and zoning codes
so as to prevent the housing of temporary seasonal employees in
sub -standard and illegal housing and thereby take the profit out
of the abusing of these persons.
Section 2: This Resolution shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage and adoption according to law.
