A RESOLUTION ADDRESSED TO THE HONORABLE OTTO KERNER, GOVERNOR
OF THE STATE-OF'ILLINOIS IN SUPPORT OF HOUSE BILLS 2140 & 2147
WHEREAS, Illinois General Assembly House Bills 2140 and
2147, both having to do with motor fuel tax allocations,
are before you for signature; and
WHEREAS, it is within the best interests of the Village
of Elk Grove Village and all municipalities in the State
of Illinois, that said bills be signed into law, in that
House Bill 2140 would allow municipalities to receive
their motor fuel tax allocations on much the same basis
that they now receive sales tax monies, and House Bill
2147 would eliminate much of the present unnecessary
supervision to which municipalities are r-•, subjected in
the use of motor fuel tax funds.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the President and. --ard
of Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Count1-;
of Cook and DuPage, Illinois:
Section 1. That the corporate authorities of the Village
of Elk Grove Village do hereby support House Bills 2140
and 2147, and urge that same be signed and enacted into
law.
Section 2. That this resolution shall be in full force
and effect from and after its passage and approval according
to law.
