A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE VILLAGE PRESIDENT TO SIGN AN AGREEMENT BY
THE VILLAGE OF ELK GROVE VILLAGE AND THE VILLAGE OF SCHAUMBURG TO FURNISH
PIIONE SERVICE RELAYING POLICE MESSAGES
NOW, TfEpMFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the President and Board of Trustees
of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of Cook and DuPage, State of
Illinois:
Section 1 - That the Village President be and is hereby authorized to
sign the attached documents marked Exhibit I
, a copy of which is attached hereto and made a part hereof
as if fully set forth and the Village Clerk is authorized to attest said
documents upon the signature of the Village President.
Section 2 - That this resolution shall be in full force and effect from
and after its passage and approval according to law.

AGREEMENT by the Village of Elk Grove
Village and the Village of Schaumburg
to furnish phone service relaying
police messages.
WHEREAS the Village of Schaumburg does not have a police
staff and communication sufficient to keep a police officer avail-
able at a telephone in the Village of Schaumburg to relay calls
from residents for police aid and information;
WHEREAS the Village of Elk Grove Village does have a
sufficient staff and equipment to receive calls from residents
of the Village of Schaumburg with the purpose in mind of relaying
same to squad cars operated by the Village of Schaumburg when
their police officers are not available to receive the telephone
calls directly;
WHEREAS it is to the best interest of both villages and
the interest of economy to fully utilize their staff and equipment
to the best interests of both;
NOW THEREFORE it is agreed by and between the Village of
Schaumburg and the Village of Elk Grove Village:
ONE: That the Village of Schaumburg is to install or
cause to be installed in the Village Hall in the Village of Elk
Grove Village, such telephone equipment as is necessary to accom-
plish the purpose of relaying the calls of its residents via Elk
Grove police radio to squad cars owned and operated by the Village
of Schaumburg,
TWO: That the Police Department of the Village of Elk
Grove Village shall receive calls directed to it by residents of
the Village of Schaumburg calling for police aid and information
and to transmit said calls for police aid by radio transmission
to squad cars for the Village of Schaumburg for action by them,
when the Village of Schaumburg does not have its own policemen
on duty to receive said calls.
THREE: That in the event the police of the Village of
Elk Grove Village are not able to successfully transmit the

above calls for police aid it shall transmit them to the County
Police and that its responsibility for the communications and the
transmission shall terminate either upon the successful transmis-
sion of them via radio to Schaumburg police cars or communication
to the Cook County Police, in the event said communications to
the squad car are not successful.
FOUR: The Village of Schaumburg agrees to indemnify the
Village of Elk Grove Village for and from any and all causes of
action directed against them because of failure to transmit the
message of its residents for any reason whatsoever.
FIVE: That the Village of Schaumburg will pay to the Vil-
lags of Elk Grove Village, the sum of $125.00 a month for answer-
ing and relaying the aforementioned police communications which
amount shall be paid by the first of the month commencing on the
first day of December, 1963.
SIX: This Agreement shall extend and be binding on both
parties for a period ending one year from the date hereof but may
be terminated by the Village of Schaumburg upon written notice to
the Village Clerk of the Village of Elk Grove Villageat the office
customarily occupied by him.
