A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING A CITIZENS PARK COMMITTEE
WHEREAS, the Village of Elk Grove Village is an expanding com-
munity in need of park and recreation facilities for its residents and
members, and
WHEREAS, the procurement of said facilities and the operation of
parks and recreation facilities may be accomplished through various and
sundry means, including the establishmeLt cf a separate Park District, the
inclusion of ballct proposals to the residents of the Village, an&
WHEREAS, it isd=.emed desirable that a citizens park committee be
organized for the purpose of studying the park and recreational needs of the
community and the means best calculated to serve said needs;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the President and Board of
Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Cook County, Illincist as
follows:
Section 1 That the Village of Elk Grove Village by its President
and Board o rustees doestereby establish a citizens park committee to be
known as the Village of Elk Grove Village Citizens Park Committee; said com-
mittee to consist of five members; that said committee shallmake a thorough
investigation into the public needs for park and recreation facilities and
the means by which said facilities may be procured and operated; that said
committee report back its findings to the President and Board of Trustees;
that all departments of government of the Village of Elk Grove Village are
hereby instructed to cooperate with said committee to carry out their pur-
poses and functions.
Section 2 That said comnittee shall be of a temporary nature to
serve at the pleasure of the President and Board of Trustees; that all mem-
bers of said committee shall serve without compensation.
Section 3 That this resolution shall be in full force and effect
upon its a u3up ion and approval according to law.
ADOPTED this 23rd &y of January, 1961.
