RESOLUTION CANVASSING THE VOTES CAST AT THE
REGULAR ELECTION OF APRIL 18; 1961
AND DECLARING THE RESULTS THEREOF
WHEREAS, a regular election was held in and for the Village
of Elk Grove Village, Cook County, Illinois, on Tuesday.* April 18, 1961,
for the purpose of electing a Village President, a Village Clerk, three
Village Trustees and a Police Magistrate, each for a four-year term, and
two Library Directors., each for a six-year term; and
WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees have canvassed the
votes cast at said election and are ready to report;
NOW, THEREFCREA BE IT RESOLVED by the President and Board of
Trustees of the Pillage of Elk Grove Village, Cook Countyv Illinois:
Section 1. That said election was duly held as provided by law.
Section 2. That 22540 votes were cast in the following manneri

Nine defective ballots were cast and not counted.
Section 3.
(1) James R..Gibson, having received the highest number of
votes be and is hereby declared elected to the office of President of the
Village of Elk Grove Village.
(2) Eleanor G. Turner, having received the highest number
of votes be and is hereby declared elected to the office of Clerk of
the Village of Elk Grove Village.
(3) Charles J. Zettek, Jr., Francis J. Dillon and Eugene
V. Keith, having received the highest number of votes, be and each of
them are hereby declared elected to the office of Trustee of the Village
of Elk Grove Village.
(4) Barbara W. Walsh and Grover A. Streich, having received
the highest number of votes, be and they are hereby declared elected to
the office of Library Director of the Village of Elk Grove Village.
(5) Richard A. Ahlgren, having received the highest number
of votes, be and is hereby declared elected to the office of Police
Magistrate of the Village of Elk Grove Village.
That all foregoing officials so elected shall qualify in the manner and
time prescribed by law.
Section 4. That this resolution shall be in full force and
effect forthwith upon its adoption and approval according to law.
ADOPTED this 24 day of April, 1961.
