RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION ACKNOWLEDGING THE NEED FOR AN ACTIVE CIVIL DEFENSE PROGRAM
FOR THE VILLAGE OF ELK GROVE VILLAGE
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the President and Board of
Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Gook County, Illinois:
Section 1. That an active civil defense organization is a
proper requirement for the maintenance of public safety and for the
protection of life and property of the residents of Elk Grove Village.
Section 2. That an active civil defense organisation will
function as an aid to the Village Board of Trustees and the President
and as an extension or aid to the Police and Fire Departments particu-
larly in cases where existing manpower and facilities do not exist to
cope with large scale disasters.
Section 3. That the functions and duties of the oivil defense
organization are not necessarily limited to preparing for and acting in
cases of one" attack but the civil defense organisation fasacit Ni LL
4w function in oases of large scale disasters caused by fire, falling air-
craft, tornado or siailar causes.
Section 4. That the President and Village Board will actively
support the activities of the civil defense organisation by acting promptly
on recommendations submitted by the Director of Civil Defense, and acknow-
ledging such support in public statements and -eking such recommendations
to the Director of Civil Defense as might be deemed necessary from time to
time.
Section 5. That this resolution shall be in fall force and effect
from and after its passage and approval according to law.
