RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING CONTRACT FOR FIRE PROTECTION BETWEEN
THE VILLAGE OF ELK GROVE VILLAGE AND THE MOUNT PROSPECT
VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT AND THE MOUNT PROSPECT RURAL FIRE
PROTECTION LEAGUE
WHEREAS, the territory within which the Village of Elk Grove
Village is situated has been disconnected from the Elk Grove Rural Fire
Protection District in proceedings had before the County Court of Cook
County; designated as Case No, 59 CO 3624 by said Court and titled In Tne
Matter Cf the Petition of Leonard A. Scharringhausen for the detachment
and disconnection of certain property from the protection of the Elk Grove
Rural Fire Protection District; and
WHEREAS, the Village of Elk Grove Village does not presently
have either the fire fighting equipment or the readied personnel who are
capable of affording fire protection to the Village of Elk Grove Village
and c/ntiguous area detached in the aforementioned proceeding; and
WHEREAS, it is deemed to the best interest of the Village of Elk
Grove Village to enter into a contract for fire protection with the Mount
Prospect Rural Fire Protection League and the Mount Prospect Volunteer Fire
Department;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the President and Board of
Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Cook County, Illinois:
SECTION 1 That the Village of Elk Grove Village enter into a
contract (a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated by reference
as if fully set out) with the Mount Prospect Rural Fire Protection League
and the Mount Prospect Volunteer Fire Department, which contract shall
provide fire protection servicing, commencing April 1, 1960 and ending
March 31, 1961, for the following described property:
All that part of Sections 15 and 16 lying Southerly of the Southerly
line of the Illinois Tell Highway; all that part of the East half of
Section 17 lying Southerly of the Southerly line of the Illinois Tell
Highway; all of Sections 20, 21 and all that part of the West half of
Section 22 lying Southerly of the Southerly line of the Illinois Toll
Highway; that part of the South half of Section 26 lying Southerly of
the Northerly line of Landmeier Road and Westerly of the Westerly line
of Higgins Road; the West half of Section 27 and that part of the East
half of Section 27 lying Southerly of the Northerly line of Landmeier
Road; all of Section 28; the North half of Section 29; the East half of
the Southeast quarter of Section 29 (excepting therefrom that part
thereof lying West of Arlington Heights Road); that part of Section 32
lying East of the Arlington Heights Read; all of Section 33; all of
Section 34; Section 35 (except that part thereof lying Easterly of the
Westerly line of Higgins Read); all in Township 41 North, Range 11
East of the Third .Principal Meridian, Cook County, Illinois;
said property being that which was disconnected by the County Court of
Cook County from the Elk Grove Rural Fire Protection District.
That said contract provides for the following schedule of pay-
ments by the VillSge of Elk Grove Village to the Mount Prospect Rural Fire
Protection League:
A. For each and every response to an alarm of fire P)r other
emergency within the territory to be serviced to which response is male
by the party of the first part and the party of the second part utilizing
only the piece of apparatus and equipment commonly known as the "emergency
truck" (this emergency truck is a panel truck carrying special equipment
and differs from what is commonly known as a fire engine or a pumper unit)
irrespective of the numbers of personnel responding, the sum of One
Hundred (6100) Dollars.

B. For each and every response to an alarm of fire or other
emergency as hereinabove described, except that the equipment responding
is what is commonly known as a fire engine, whether accompanied or not
by the vehicle commonly known as the water tank carrier, the sum of Two
hundred twenty-five 0225) Dollars.
C. For each and every response to an alarm of fire or other
emergency as hereinabove described, except that the equipment responding
is what is common ly known as the emergency truck and also the fire en-
gine, the sum of Three hundred twenty-five 0325) Dollars.
That it is understood that said contract may be terminated upon
ten (10) days' prior written notice by either party, and that the
President of the Village of Elk Grove Village be and is hereby authorized
to sign said contract fully binding the Village of Elk Grove Village for
the period specified.
SECTION 2 That this resolution shall be in full force and
effect forthwith upon its adoption and approval according, to law.
