HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTION - 7-60 - 8/8/1960 - COOK CTY ZOING BD/OBJECT RESOLUTION N0, 7-60 RESOLUTION DIRECTED TO THE COUNTY CLERK OF COOK COUNTY, COUNTY BOARD OF COOK COUNTY AND ZONING BOARD OF APPEA3S OF COOK COUNTY, OBJECTING TO 156UME OF SPECIAL USE PERMIT FOR TRAILER PARK PROPOSED BY APPLICANT FOR FORTY ACRE TRACT ON THE EAST SIDE OF ELviHURST ROAD APPROeIMATELY 11980 FEET NORTH OF TOUBY AVENUE, ELK GROVE MgNSHIP. WHEREAS, the Village of Elk Grove Village has been informed that the Pioneer Trust and Savings Bank as Trustee under Trust No. 5628 as owners of a forty acre tract located on the East side of Elmhurst Road and lying approximately 19980 feet North of Touhy Avenue, Elk Grove Town- ship, Cook County, Illinois, has applied for a special use permit from the County Board of Commissioners, Cook County, Illinois, case No. 51689, Docket 73; and WHEREAS, the property in question is within one and one-half (1�) miles of the Village of Elk Grove Village and within the area defined by its official plan and whereas the Village deems the use proposed to be against the best interests of the Village; and 14BEREAS, the Village of Elk Grove Village understands that there is to be a hearing before the Cook County Zoning Board of Appeals on said application on Wednesday, August 10, 1960; and WHEREAS, the Village of Elk Grove Village believes it to be against the best interests of the Village of Elk Grove Village, its tax- payers and residents, and against the best interests of School District 59, most of whose taxpayers are also taxpayers of the Village of Elk Grove Village; and wHEREAS, the history of Cook County as to trailer park oc- cupancy has shown that trailer occupancy does not generate taxation in any way commensurate with the municipal and school responsibilities which it generates; and WHEREAS, in the corporate areas occupied by School District 59 twenty-two (22) percent of the children attending said school in the last year have come from trailer parks and have cost its taxpayers approxi- mately x,126,000 over and above taxation produced which must be absorbed by oUiev taxpayers; and t+HEREAS, the granting of the application aforementioned will further increase the burden of the taxpayers of School District 59 and also the taxpayers of the Village of Elk Grove Village in addition over and above the foregoing. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE President and the Board of Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Cook County, Illinois: Section 1 That the Village of Elk Grove Village, by its President a�d-of Trustees, does hereby oppose and object to the granting of a special use permit for trailer park on the forty acre tract owned by Pioneer Trust and Savings Bank as Trustee under Trust No. 5628 and located on the East side of Elmhurst Road lying 1,980 feet North of Touhy Avenue, Elk Grove Township, Illinois. Section 2 That the Village Clerk of the Village of Elk Grove Village is hereby instructed to file the resolution adopted herein with the County Clerk of Cook County, the Board of Cook County Commissioners and the Zoning Board of Appeals of Cook County, pursuant to the laws of the State of Illinois, made and provided. Section 3 That this resolution shall be in full force and effPot upon 118-0—option and approval according to law.
