AN ORDINANCE GRANTING AN ADMINISTRATIVE SPECIAL USE PERMIT
TO TOWNSHIP HIGH SCHOOL DISTRICT 214 FOR THE INSTALLATION OF
A NON-COMMERCIAL TELECOMMUNICATIONS ANTENNA AT ELK
GROVE HIGH SCHOOL, 500 EAST ELK GROVE BOULEVARD, ELK GROVE
VILLAGE. ILLINOIS
WHEREAS, Elk Grove High School is owned and operated by Township High
School District 214 (District 214), a municipal governmental entity incorporated by the
State of Illinois; and,
WHEREAS, District 214 provides Elk Grove High School with data and voice
services which are utilized by school faculty and students for public educational purposes
pursuant to the governmental mission of District 214; and,
WHEREAS, District 214 has an existing 65 foot antenna at Elk Grove High
School utilized to transmit non-commercial data and voice services between the High
School and the District 214 offices; and,
WHEREAS, District 214 reports that the existing antenna is too low to transmit
through trees and a higher antenna is required to maintain its non-commercial data and
voice communication with Elk Grove High School; and,
WHEREAS, District 214 has requested to replace the existing non-commercial
use antenna with a new non-commercial use antenna at a height of 95 feet; and,
WHEREAS, The Elk Grove Village Zoning Ordinance requires that a Special
Use Permit be issued for telecommunications antennas at the height proposed by District
214.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Mayor and Board of Trustees
of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of Cook and DuPage, Illinois as follows:
Section 1: That there be granted an Administrative Special Use Permit pursuant
to Section 3-5:11 of the Zoning Ordinance to permit the construction of a non-commercial
telecommunications antenna at Elk Grove High School, 500 E. Elk Grove Boulevard, at a
height of 95 feet as a replacement to its existing antenna.
Section 2: That this Special Use Permit is hereby issued to District 214 to further
its governmental mission and this Special Use Permit cannot be utilized for the
installation of any telecommunications antenna(s) intended to provide commercial
services offered to the public.
Section 3: That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its
passage and approval according to law.
