AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 3-1-6 LICENSE FEES OF THE
VILLAGE CODE OF THE VILLAGE OF ELK GROVE VILLAGE TO
INCREASE THE LICENSE FEE FOR COIN OPERATED BULK
FOOD/NOVELTIES AND COIN OPERATED PACKAGED FOOD/BEVERAGE
VENDING MACHINES
WHEREAS, the Mayor and Board of Trustees, at a public hearing duly called
and held according to law, considered the question of increasing the license fee for Coin
Operated Bulk Food/Novelties from ten dollars ($10.00) to twenty-five dollars ($25.00)
and the license fee for Coin Operated Packaged Food and Beverage from twenty-five
dollars ($25.00) to fifty dollars ($50.00); and
WHEREAS, at said public hearing, the owner of a vending machine company
indicated to the Board the hardship that such increase would have on his company,
especially if the increase goes into effect in its entirety in one (1) license year; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor and Board of Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove
Village, after having considered all the testimony and evidence at the public hearing, are
of the opinion that the license fees should be increased as requested by the Finance
Department subject to the condition that the increase take effect over a two year (2)
period.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Mayor and Board of Trustees
of the Village of Falk Grove Village, Counties of Cook and DuPage, Illinois as follows:
Section 1: That Section 3-1-6 License Fees of the Village Code of the Village of
Elk Grove Village be amended as follows:
1. That the license fee for Coin Operated/Bulk Food/Novelties be increased for the
license year commencing June 1, 2007 from ten dollars ($10.00) to twenty
dollars ($20.00); and
That the license fee be further increased for the license year
commencing June 1, 2008 and thereafter from twentydollars ($20.00) to
twenty five dollars ($25.00).
2. That the license fee for Coin Operated Food/Beverage machines shall be
increased for the license year commencing June 1, 2007 from twenty-five
dollars ($25.00) to thirty-five dollars ($35.00) per machine; and
The license fee be further increased for the license year commencing June 1, 2008
and thereafter from thirty-five dollars ($35.00) to fifty dollars ($50.00).
Section 2: That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its
passage and approval according to law.
