AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE GENERAL PENALTY PROVISIONS OF
CHAPTER 4 OF THE ELK GROVE VILLAGE VILLAGE CODE BY
INCREASING THE DUE DATE PENALTIES AND FINAL NOTICE DATE
PENALTIES FOR FIRE PREVENTION CODE OFFENSES AND DEPARTMENT
OF ENGINEERING AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT VIOLATIONS
WHEREAS, Chapter 4 General Penalty of Title 1 of the Elk Grove Village
Village Code establishes minimum settlement penalties and final notice date penalties for
Fire Prevention Code violations and Department of Engineering and Community
Development violations; which penalty amounts have been the same for over sixteen (16)
years; and
WHEREAS, cost of enforcement of these violations as well as increased
administrative costs and salaries necessitate the increase of these penalty provisions.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Mayor and Board of Trustees
of the Village of Elk Grove Village; Counties of Cook and DuPage, Illinois as follows:
Section 1: That the Due Date Penalty and the Final Notice Date Penalty set
forth in Section 1-4-4-3 B and Section 1-4-4-4 B be and the same are hereby increased as
follows:

Section 2: That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its
passage and approval according to law.
