AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 3-3-10A OF THE VILLAGE CODE
PERTAINING TO THE PROHIBITION OF GAMBLING AT
ESTABLISHMENTS LICENSED TO SELL ALCOHOLIC LIQUOR TO
EXEMPT'OFF TRACK BETTING FROM THIS SECTION AT LOCATIONS
APPROVED BY THE VILLAGE BOARD
WHEREAS, Inter -Track Partners LLC and Ringside Bar and Grill has requested
the Village Board to consider authorizing and permitting off track betting to be conducted
at Ringside which has a Class A Liquor License with the Village; and
WHEREAS, currently, Section 3-3-10A of the Village Code prohibits gambling
on any premises licensed to sell alcoholic liquor; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor and Board of Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove
Village; at a public meeting wherein the request to authorize an off track betting facility
was discussed, determined that such a facility would not have an adverse or deleterious
effect on the Village and would therefore be in the best interest of the Village.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Mayor and Board of
Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of Cook and DuPage, Illinois as
follows:
Section 1: That Section 3-3-10A Gambling be and the same is hereby amended
to read as follows:
3-3-10A Gambling It shall be unlawful to permit gambling on any
premises licensed to sell alcoholic liquor provided that, this Section shall not apply to off
track betting sanctioned by the Illinois Gambling Board which is conducted at a location
which has been approved by the Village Board.
Section 2: That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its
passage and approval according to law.
