AN ORDINANCE GRANTING A VARIATION OF SECTION 3-7:D.3 OF THE
ZONING ORDINANCE TO PERMIT THE CONSTRUCTION OF A NEW
FENCE WHICH WOULD EXTEND EIGHT (8) FEET BEYOND THE LINE
EXTENDED FROM THE NEAREST FRONT CORNER OF AN ADJACENT
SINGLE-FAMILY RESIDENTIAL LOT ON PROPERTY LOCATED AT 812
SCHOONER LANE, ELK GROVE VILLAGE (IGBAL)
WHEREAS, the Zoning Board of Appeals, at a Public Hearing duly called and
held according to law, considered the question of granting a fifteen (15) foot variation of
Section 3-7:13.3 of the Zoning Ordinance pertaining to the location of fences on corner
lots: and
WHEREAS, the Mayor and Board of Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove
Village, after having reviewed the findings of the Zoning Board of Appeals, which
findings recommended a reduction of the fifteen (15) foot request to eight (8) feet, find
and believe that sufficient hardship exists so as to justify the granting of said variation as
amended.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Mayor and Board of Trustees
of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of Cook and DuPage.. Illinois as follows:
Section 1: That there be granted a variation of Section 3-7:D.3 of the Zoning
Ordinance to permit a fence to be constructed approximately eight (8) feet (plus or minus
depending on the exact location of an existing tree to be located inside the fence) beyond
a line extended from the nearest front corner of an adjacent single-family residential lot
on property located at 812 Schooner Lane, Elk Grove Village.
Section 2: That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its
passage and approval according to law.
VOTE: AYES: 5 NAYS: 0 ABSENT: 1
