AN ORDINANCE FIXING MAY 26, 2009 AS THE DATE FOR THE
INAUGURATION AND COMMENCEMENT OF TERMS FOR THE VILLAGE
OF ELK GROVE VILLAGE MUNICIPAL OFFICERS TO BE ELECTED AT
THE APRIL 7, 2009 MUNICIPAL ELECTION
WHEREAS, Chapter 65, Section 5/3.1-10-15 of the Illinois Compiled Statutes (2004);
authorizes the corporate authorities to establish the date for the inauguration of newly elected
officers of the Village; and
WHEREAS, on April 7, 2009 a municipal election will be held in which the offices of
Mayor, three (3) Village Trustees, two (2) full term Library Trustees and one (1) unexpired four
ZD
(4) year term Library Trustee of the Village of Elk Grove Village will be duly elected and the
Proclamation of the results of said election to occur on May 26, 2009; and
WHEREAS, the Village Attorney has recommended to the Mayor and Board of Trustees
that the date of inauguration for the Mayor, three Village Trustees, two full term Library Trustees
and one unexpired term Library Trustee elected at the April 7, 2009 municipal election be fixed
for May 26, 2009, the second regular meeting of the Mayor and Board of Trustees for May 2009;
and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Mayor and Board of Trustees of the
Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of Cook and DuPage, Illinois as follows:
Section 1: That the date for inauguration and commencement of terms for the Mayor, three
Village Trustees, two full term Library Trustees and one unexpired term Library Trustee of the
Village of Elk Grove Village to be elected at the April 7, 2009 municipal election shall be May
26. 2009.
Section 2: That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage
and approval according to law.
VOTES: AYES: 6 NAYS: 0 ABSENT: 0
